What is Fix & Flash?
Fix & Flash is a strong cyanoacrylate glue, a new generation MECA (Metho Ethoxy A Crylate) which cures by way of light-activated curing technology (LED in terms of our glue). This technology allows you to glue together all of your objects, on almost all materials and surfaces, with ease: apply the multi-purpose glue, adjust the position, activate the light and in 15 seconds, it’s glued!
What is a cyanoacrylate glue?
Fix & Flash uses a latest generation formulation of cyanoacrylate (MECA) to bond and repair all objects and materials onto almost all surfaces. Cyanoacrylate glue is a strong instant glue that is very adaptable. MECA cyanoacrylate glue has the same properties as the first but without the disadvantages: it doesn’t stick your fingers together, there are no hazardous markings on the packaging, it doesn’t have an unpleasant odour and it’s solvent free.
How does the Fix & Flash LED light work?
Fix & Flash is equipped with an LED lamp that reproduces the UV rays of natural light. The LED lamp therefore allows the glue to solidify in just a few seconds on any surface and on any material. To activate the light, simply press the bulb. To switch if off, press the bulb again. The light is supplied by 2 CR2016 lithium batteries.
What is shadow Curing technology?
Shadow curing is the action by which Fix & Flash strong glue dries due to its photo-active ingredient: the glue only fully dries on contact with the LED light rays regardless of the surface that it comes into contact with! This bonding principle works on all materials, even opaque materials! Our shadow curing technology is similar to that used by dentists to bond dental braces, for repairing cavities and for whitening teeth*! Fix & Flash, it’s professional!
*The use of Fix & Flash glue is not however suitable for dentistry care.
How to use Fix & Flash
1. When using Fix & Flash for the first time, twist the green cap on the bottle in order to pierce the sealing membrane and engage the applicator nozzle. Gently twist to prevent the tube from moving out of its original position. Then unscrew the green cap to use this extra strong glue.
2. Holding the grips, with a steady hand, apply the glue and adjust the position.
3. Hold firmly in place for around 3 seconds to create an initial bond, you can now use one of your hands to activate the light.
4. Press directly on the LED lamp to switch it on, and direct the light around all edges of the bonding area. Shine the beam on the area for 15 seconds for full curing.
5. We recommend cleaning the nozzle after each use for optimal conservation of the glue.
How do I prepare the bonding surfaces?
Before using Fix & Flash, make sure that the bonding surfaces are clean, dry and free of grease. We recommend that you clean surfaces with a degreasing agent or rubbing alcohol.
What quantity of glue should be applied?
Cover the bonding surface with a thin layer of glue, it’s important that the edges of the bonding area are covered sufficiently with the glue to allow the LED lamp rays to penetrate the entire surface of the bonding area. If the surface to be bonded is quite extensive, you can apply the glue on both surfaces for better results.
How to change/replace the battery
The Fix & Flash glue applicator has been designed to operate for 1500 hours - maximum battery life of the lamp supplied by 2 CR2016 lithium batteries, included.
1. Unscrew the green crystal tip where the lamp is located
2. Remove the LED bulb
3. Use a pencil to assist you in removing the batteries from the bulb
4. Insert the batteries in the correct direction of polarity (+ / -)
5. Put the bulb back into its base and screw everything back into place
Don’t forget to dispose of your used batteries in recycling containers.
Can I replace by used tube of Fix & Flash glue with a tube from another brand?
No: the Fix & Flash applicator has been designed to operate solely with Fix & Flash glue. The effect of shadow curing (curing of the entire bonding area using light) only works with the Fix & Flash MECA glue formula.
How do I change/replace the tube of glue?
Fix & Flash, it’s clever and refillable solely with Bostik 5g Fix & Flash tubes. When you need to replace the tube, it’s a very simple procedure:
1. Unscrew the ends of the applicator: the cap and the lamp:
2. Press the nozzle and remove the used tube of glue from the bottom
3. Twist the new nozzle onto the new tube of glue to pierce the sealing membrane
4. Place the tube into its green base and insert it into the applicator following the internal tracks (try not to force or twist the tube as it could rupture and damage the entire system).

Does daylight activate the glue’s photo-active ingredients?
Yes, although the glue will dry less quickly than with the LED lamp light, which is more concentrated. This is why we recommend that you avoid carrying out your bonding tasks in places that are directly exposed to the sun (powerful natural UV), and to replace the cap on the applicator following each use (risk of drying in the tube).
How do I improve the finish of my Fix & Flash repairs?
Once dry, Fix & Flash glue can be filed or sanded down to achieve a smoother finish, it can also be painted to ensure an invisible repair job! You can use any type of paint: acrylic, oil-based etc.
Who can use Fix & Flash?
The whole family, over the age of 14 and all professionals that wish to save time! This glue needs no hazard warnings, it is odourless and solvent free and does not immediately stick to the fingers. It should still however be kept out of the reach of children.
How do I store Fix & Flash glue?
After each use, clean the nozzle with acetone or nail polish remover. Avoid carrying out your bonding tasks in areas directly exposed to the sun, and replace the cap on the applicator after each use (risk of drying the tube). Store the tightly sealed applicator in a dry place. The product hardens on contact with moisture. Protect from freezing. Store it in a cool place in an upright position to keep the glue as inert as possible between two applications.
What should I do if the nozzle is clogged?
Unclog the nozzle using a needle.
How do I remove glue and clean any traces of Fix & Flash glue?
- Wet glue: wipe the area in question with a cloth soaked in nail polish remover or acetone.
- Dry glue: scratch the area concerned using a sponge or a scouring sponge. Then clean the area using the same procedure explained above for wet glue to get rid of any last traces of glue.
- On the fingers: wet glue should be removed with water/dry glue: remove by peeling off tiny flakes at a time.
Should specific precautions be taken when using Fix & Flash?
Read the back of the packaging before use. There are no specific precautions required for handling this glue. Avoid any contact with the skin, eyes and clothing.. Dangerous, comply with the precautions for use. Read the section on “How to use Fix & Flash”.
Who can use Fix & Flash?
Fix & Flash is a strong repair glue available to all DIY enthusiasts and crafters. However, this product is not a toy and has small parts that can be ingested, please keep it out of the reach of children. If ingested, consult a doctor immediately. If you consult a doctor, keep the product or packaging available.
Can I use Fix & Flash for dental care such as rebonding a tooth?
No. The Fix & Flash technology is the result of technology used by dentists which involves using a glue that hardens when activated by light, but this is a special glue specifically designed for this purpose. Fix & Flash must not under any circumstances be ingested or used on parts of the body.
Is the Fix & Flash LED light harmful to health?
The Fix & Flash LED lamp emits cold light of low intensity that does not require wearing glasses with protection against UV rays. Direct exposure to a bright light can be harmful to the eyes. Do not look directly at the light or direct it towards people or animals. In the event of prolonged exposure, you should consult a specialist immediately.
I have glue on my fingers and can’t seem to remove it, what do I do?
Immediately rinse with soap and lots of water. If the skin irritation persists, see a doctor. Do not pull on glued skin. The tissues that are glued together by accident should never be removed surgically. In effect, even without special treatment, it’s a question of time before the cyanoacrylate glue separates from the skin, the eyes or the oral mucosa following the effects of moisture, sweat, tears or saliva. The effect can be alleviated by water and soap and/or the use of lotion for greasy skin or protective oil. If you have glue on your fingers, remove any traces of dry glue by scratching it off.
I have glue in my eyes, what do I do?
Rinse immediately and thoroughly with water. After the initial rinsing, remove your contact lenses if you wear them and continue to rinse for a further 15 minutes. Hold the eyelids open and see a doctor. Do not force open your eyes or any areas of glued skin.
I have inhaled the glue over a prolonged period, what do I do?
Go outside into the fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. See a doctor in the case of symptoms
I have ingested the glue, what do I do?
In the event of ingestion, do not induce vomiting. See a doctor immediately and show him the packaging or label. In the event of ingestion, rinse the mouth with water (only if the individual is conscious).
